How to plan a wine tour

Whether a hens weekend, fundraiser or an excuse to get your friends together, a wine tour is a fun way to indulge and let your hair down. However, to get the best out of your time it is essential you do some planning. How are you going to get around?  Whether you have a few designated drivers or hire a bus it is vital you organise transport. Vineyards are usually rather isolated with next to zero public transport so make sure you tick this one off the list first. A wine tour company can be a great option as they take care of where the tour will go and often have relationships with staff at the cellar door. Which wineries? Get your hands on a map and plot out where you want to go. Look for reviews and make your choices on based on who offers the best tastings and experiences for your guests.  Pre-bookings and payment Not all tastings are free and many cellar doors will charge a fee of around $10pp. If you’re in a group find out if you need to book as you could get turned away if
